Adventures in Cooking

As a treat for our host family, Amy Anne and I decided to make them dinner! I brought a box of grits just for this purpose. I am a little amazed that they trusted us in their kitchen, but it worked out well! ... In the end. The grocery shopping was an experience to begin with. Very few of the ingredients matched up. We really wanted chocolate chip cookies, so we had to make them from scratch. I guess Toll House hasn't ventured across the Atlantic.
We could not find a single thing with measuring marks in the whole kitchen. So we measured every single thing in my camelbak! I am going to be drinking bits of flour for days.
They don't have chocolate chips here, so we made our own!
Um... where's 350 on this oven?
I broke a glass... yikes! Teresa stilled doesn't know.
Finally, after lots of mishaps and laughter, the meal came together! They weren't exactly sure what to make of the grits, but I thought it was all quite delicious!
