On Sunday we went to the Alhambra, which is the most visited place in Spain. It is a palace and fortress and gardens built by Arab rulers in the mid 14th century. It was beautiful. These are just a few of the pictures!
This is our tour guide, who we called the Nazi. He wanted everyone to give them their complete and undivided attention at all times while he gave us way too much detail in heavily accented fast Spanish directly into our headphones. He was constantly reminding us not to run. I guess he's used to giving tours to 5 year olds. Not quite sure. If we didn't stand exactly where he wanted us to he'd get mad. In other words, if someone named Fernando ever wants to give you a tour of the Alhambra - get out while you can. It still was so neat to see those, and the Nazi just gave us something to laugh about!
No big deal, just the ceiling in the room where Christopher Columbus asked permission to go find the Americas.
These tile motifs are very famous.
