Even though we were only here for a day, I loved wandering through this gorgeous city! It surprisingly didn't feel very touristy at all, which was nice.
The Palacio Real. I learned about the monarchs today in culture class. Apparently the heir to the throne married a divorced newscaster, which just isn't done. One of the princesses is also divorced, and the other's husband stole millions of Euros and is now in "jail." They are a little embarrassed.
They love their statues in Madrid. This one is of Don Quijote and Sancho Panza. That book is a national obsession. We came home to clean sheets and towels, and our favorite foods for dinner (spanish tortilla and fish). We are pretty worn out, but ready for another week in Salamanca!
