Welcome to Toledo

This weekend was our first excursion. I'm probably going to have to split it up into a thousand posts to fit all that we crammed into these two days. We woke up very early Saturday morning. Well, Juan (our Spanish dad) didn't wake up quite as early as planned. He was going to drive us to the buses, but he overslept. So the morning was a little stressful. But we made it! We headed to Toledo first thing. You can find it on this map in relation to Salamanca:
Lauren, Me, Marie, Amy Anne, and Joy at an overlook of the city.
The first thing we saw was this painting. It is called El entierro del Conde de Orgaz, by El Greco. It is probably his most famous painting. It takes up a whole wall. I tried to find a picture on Google to do it justice, but there is no such thing. To be honest, I never really liked El Greco when we studied Art History in AP Euro. But this painting took my breath away. It is incredible. I could've stood and looked at it for hours. The detail is impeccable. Even after the whole day in Toledo this was my favorite thing to see.
